The invention discloses an intelligent vehicle shunting system and method. The intelligent vehicle shunting system comprises a terminal control subsystem, and a vehicle identification subsystem, a traffic control subsystem, an indication subsystem and an early warning subsystem which are respectively connected with the terminal control subsystem, the vehicle identification subsystem is used for acquiring vehicle identification data and sending the vehicle identification data to the terminal control subsystem; the terminal control subsystem is used for receiving the vehicle identification data and sending control signals to the vehicle identification subsystem, the traffic control subsystem, the indication subsystem and the early warning subsystem according to the vehicle identification data; the traffic control subsystem is used for opening and limiting the destination of the transport vehicle according to the received control signal; the indication subsystem is used for providing vehicle destination information and a guide sign according to the received control signal; and the early warning subsystem is used for warning other approaching vehicles to safely avoid according to the received control signal, so that the material transportation efficiency is improved, and the traffic transportation safety is guaranteed.
