The invention belongs to the technical field of scaffolds, and particularly relates to a vertical supporting device of a ring lock type scaffold with large bearing capacity. Comprising a supporting sleeve, a vertical rod and a rotating cylinder; the supporting sleeve, the vertical rod and the rotary drum are vertically arranged and are coaxially mounted; the upper end of the vertical rod is higher than the upper end of the supporting sleeve and provided with a jacking, the lower end of the vertical rod extends into the supporting sleeve, and the vertical rod is movably matched with the supporting sleeve. Bases are arranged at the lower ends of the supporting sleeves; the supporting sleeve and the vertical rod are sleeved with the rotating cylinder, the lower end of the rotating cylinder is located between the upper end of the supporting sleeve and the base, and the upper end of the rotating cylinder is located between the upper end of the supporting sleeve and the jacking. The supporting sleeve and the rotating drum are connected through a circumferential rotating structure and are locked after rotating in one direction through a non-return mechanism; the rotary drum is connected with the vertical rod through a thread structure and is guided through an up-and-down movement guide structure; and connecting discs are arranged on the supporting sleeve, the vertical rod and/or the rotating drum. Under the condition of the same load, the number of the vertical supporting devices of the ring-lock type scaffold can be reduced.
