A locking box including a base and a cover includes a latch recess integrated into an outer profile of the box and a latch mounted within the latch recess. The latch includes a latch handle including a first end rotatably coupled with the cover and a second end including an end protrusion configured for removable engagement with the first portion of the base. The latch also includes a channel feature therethrough for receiving the locking mechanism. The latch handle is larger than the locking mechanism. When the second end of the latch handle is engaged with the first portion of the base and the locking mechanism is mounted through the channel feature, the latch recess completely accommodates the latch and most or all of the locking mechanism therein such that the latch and locking mechanism substantially do not protrude from the outer contour of the cartridge.
