The flood drainage system of the pumped storage power station comprises a flood drainage tunnel, an energy dissipation building, a stilling pool and a protection facility, the flood drainage tunnel comprises a gentle slope base layer and an abrupt slope base layer, the abrupt slope base layer is provided with an energy dissipation section in a calibration range of an outlet of the flood drainage tunnel, the energy dissipation section comprises a diffusion area and a broadening area, and the energy dissipation building comprises multiple energy dissipation steps. The multi-stage energy dissipation steps in the diffusion area are used for gradually changing the water flow velocity, the stilling pool is connected to an outlet of the flood drainage tunnel, and the protection facility is connected between an outlet of the stilling pool and an original riverbed covering layer. The upstream water flow passes through the multi-stage energy dissipation steps and the stilling pool to dissipate the energy of the water flow, and the energy-dissipated water flow is transited to the original riverbed covering layer through the protection facility, so that the influence on the downstream environment is reduced, and the original riverbed covering layer is protected.
