The invention discloses a magnesium-zinc ferrite material as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The magnesium-zinc ferrite material is composed of main components and auxiliary components, the main components comprise Fe2O3, MgO, ZnO and CuO, and the auxiliary components comprise CaCO3, SiO2, Co2O3, SrCO3 or/and BaCO3, V2O5, ZrO2 and Al2O3. The preparation method of the magnesium-zinc ferrite material comprises the following steps: 1) pre-firing to prepare main component particles; 2) preparing the main component particles, the auxiliary component and the binder into a granular material; and (3) the granules are injected into a mold for compression molding, and then sintering and annealing are conducted. The magnesium-zinc ferrite material has the advantages of high temperature stability, high strength, high resistivity, moderate magnetic conductivity and the like, can be used for preparing inductors, and is simple in preparation method, wide in raw material source, low in production cost and suitable for large-scale industrial production and application.
