The invention relates to the technical field of constructional engineering, in particular to a top plate formwork supporting system and a top plate formwork building method.The supporting system comprises a top plate formwork, the top plate formwork comprises a plurality of keel supporting plate sets and a main plate set, the keel supporting plate sets and the main plate set are connected with one another, each keel supporting plate set comprises a plurality of keel plates, and the main plate set comprises a plurality of main plates; the value range of the length of at least part of the keel plates in the plurality of keel plates is 1.1 m to 1.7 m; and/or the value range of the length of at least part of the main boards in the plurality of main boards is 1.1 m to 1.7 m; the supporting frame comprises a plurality of supporting units connected with the keel supporting plate sets in a one-to-one correspondence mode, each supporting unit comprises a first supporting truss and two supporting vertical rods which are connected with each other, each first supporting truss comprises a truss supporting rod and a truss connecting frame which are connected with each other, and each truss connecting frame is of a polygonal structure. Thus, the distance between the two supporting vertical rods can be increased, the size of a formwork part of the top plate formwork is increased, and the supporting frame can meet the requirement for supporting strength of the top plate formwork.
