PRODUIT REFRACTAIRE FONDU ET COULE A FORTE TENEUR EN ZIRCONE
Refractory product used in the terminal zone of a glass furnace, particularly a furnace for the production of alkaline glass, comprises (in wt. %) ZrO 2 more than 92, SiO 2 2-8, Na 2O 0.12-1; Al 2O 3 0.2-2; and 0.5 = Y 2O 3 + CaO = 2.6, where Y 2O 3 = 0.3-2, or CaO = 0.5-1.93. Preferred Features: The refractory product preferably contains (in wt. %): Y 2O 3 0.5-1.5, SiO 2 2-6, and 0.4-1.6 Al 2O 3. At least part of the Na 2O can be replaced by K 2O. Independent claims are given for: (a) utilization of the refractory product in the terminal area of a glass furnace; (b) utilization of the refractory product in a glass furnace employed for the fabrication of alkaline glass; and (c) a process for the fabrication of the refractory product.
