The cylinder lock has an operating knob (26,28) on either side of a door connected by shaft sections (12-15) in which one (15) contains an electronic decoder activated by a signal received by an antenna (27) and reader (22) energised by a battery (23) as another (14) contains an electromagnet and locking pin which causes the pegs and recesses of the sections to become engaged allowing freedom of rotation.
