The device has a tilting hook (8) cooperating with a locking pin (6) of a movable unit e.g. hinged door (3) of a jet engine thrust reverser to maintain the unit in a closed position. The hook has a double detection system (10) to verify simultaneously that the pin is in closed position and a curved part (13) of the hook is in engaged position. The system has a sensor (15) to indicate, by a signal, if the unit (3) is in the closed position and if the device is in a locked position. The system has a toggle lever (16) to detect the pin and activate a floating part (17) that detects the part (13). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a thrust reverser comprising a movable unit locking device (2) a jet engine equipped with a thrust reverser comprising a movable unit locking device.
