Self-lowering floor seal for doors has housing, sealing means preferably on housing and fastening means to fasten sealing housing into groove on door or window. Before assembly of seal in groove, fastening means are arranged at least partly irremovably in groove. At least one fastener can be connected to the sealing housing using a compression connection and at least one can be connected using an adhesive connection, another using a non-positive connection and another using a positive connection. Method involves seal being made, put into transport container, taken out of container by machine, and mounted on door leaf. Device to mount seal on door has means of positioning seal, and tools to fasten seal to door leaf.
