The partition has multiple wall elements (1) that are movably held by a guide unit (2). The wall elements have two parallel transparent pane elements (3) that are separated at a distance from one another. The wall elements have a profiled frame (4) for receiving the pane elements and for holding a soundproofing unit in order to seal the wall element against a floor and a ceiling in a soundproofing manner. The pane elements are formed from windowpanes i.e. single windowpanes, where the thicknesses of the windowpane are approximately 6, 8 or 10 millimeter.
