Self-propelled road milling machine including a milling drum housing including a side with a power take-off a milling drum in a single piece, mounted in an axially sliding way from the side opposed to the side of said power take-off in order to allow the replacement of said milling drum by means of an openable hinged wall. Said milling drum is rotated through a reduction gear, mounted at the side opposed to the side of said power take-off. Said milling drum is provided with a hollow drum collar constituting an hollow spacer between said reduction gear and said power take-off side, in said hollow drum collar being present the transmission shaft transmitting the motion from said power take-off to said reduction gear. Said milling drum (3) is supported and centred at the side opposed to the side of said power take-off by means of said reduction gear (19) which in turn is supported by said openable hinged wall (18) of the drum housing (7) through an auxiliary ring (21) centring the milling drum axis.
