The device has a carriage (9) receiving a vertically running guide rail (7). The carriage includes a lock pawl (2), which is rotatably supported at a base body (1) by a bolt (5). The lock pawl is provided with a front part (21) and a rear part (22). The lock pawl is accommodated in a slot-like opening (10) of the base body. The rear part of the lock pawl is designed and/or dimensioned relative to the slot-like opening such that the lock pawl is not removed from the slot-like opening from front by the carriage, which is inserted in the guide rail.
