The method involves producing a motive force with an angle sensor to generate a signal proportional to rotational angle of the motor and belt conveyed in opening and closing directions of a door panel to the transmission of motive force on the door panel. The door panel is driven (705) into an end position. The values of the motor current and the rotation angle signal of motor are determined. The door panel is driven (709) beyond the end position. An error message is transmitted (715) when the values of the motor current and rotation angle signals are varied.
