FIRE RETARDANT POLYSTYRENE
An article having good fire resistance as well as good mechanical properties is disclosed, comprising expanded polystyrene foam, which comprises: a first layer comprising at least 90wt% of expanded polystyrene beads or particles, and a second layer comprising 25-75wt% of expanded polystyrene beads or particles, an intumescent material, and a fire-resistant binder, wherein the thickness of the first layer is at least 20% of the total thickness of the article, and the second layer has a thickness of at least 5mm.
