ROTARY DAMPER AND HINGE DEVICE WITH DAMPER
A rotary damper 8 is disposed between side plates 41, 42 of an inner link 4 of a hinge device. A damper body 81 of the rotary damper 8 is movable with respect to a rotor 82 in a direction of a rotation axis of the rotor 82. A rotatable cam plate 95 and a movable cam plate 96 are disposed between the side plate 42 and the damper body 81. The rotatable cam plate 95 causes the movable cam plate 96 to be moved in the direction of the rotation axis of the rotor 82 according to a rotational position of the rotatable cam plate 95, thereby causing the damper body 81 to be moved in the direction of the rotation axis of the rotor 82. This causes dimensions of a gap S1 formed between a bottom surface of the damper body 81 and a left end surface of the rotor 82 to be changed. As a result, a flow resistance of the gap S1 against a fluid flowing through the gap S1 is changed, thereby adjusting a rotation speed of the rotor 82 when rotated at a low speed.
