The device e.g. cable window lifter (1), has an electrical adjusting motor (3), and an adjusting mechanism (4) coupled with an output-side of the adjusting motor. A control unit (12) controls the adjusting motor with motor current (Im) and limits motor torque of the adjusting motor through limiting of the motor current to torque limiting value. The control unit regulates the motor torque of the adjusting motor through regulation of motor voltage (Um) to torque reference value. The control unit is arranged in a motor housing of the adjusting motor. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a series of adjusting devices.
