The invention proposes a hinge assembly for the joint of a rear swinging door (13) of a motor vehicle (10) on a vertical rear leg (14) of a body structure of said vehicle (10), comprising a first hinge part (18) attached to the door (13) and a second hinge part (20) capable of being attached to the rear leg (14), said second part (20) being attached by screws (22) successively passing through said second part (18), a rear leg (14), a reinforcement plate (26), and an attachment plate (30) provided with three captive nuts (32a, 32b, 32c), characterised in that it comprises an attachment assembly (32) comprising a first plate (46) fitted with a first captive nut (32a), receiving a first screw (22a) that must be fitted before the other screws (22b, 22c), and a second independent plate (50) receiving second captive nuts (32b, 32c) receiving the other screws (22b, 22c), to prevent the misalignment of said second nuts (32b, 32c) with the bores (23) in the wall (24) and the bores (25) in the reinforcement plate (26) when the first screw (22a) is tightened.
