The insulator (1) has a central wadding layer (4) based on polyester fibers sandwiched between two films containing air bubbles (2). The layer has density of lower than 13 kilogram per meter cube. Each film is covered with an aluminum foil (3) on its free face. The layer includes thickness ranging between 20 and 60 mm and preferably between 25 and 40 mm. The aluminum foil is covered with a nitrocellulose layer on an external face of the foil and with a low density polyethylene layer on an inner face of the foil. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an insulator.
