The invention relates to a steel road safety barrier with a trapezoidal longitudinal reinforcement (3), which significantly increases the effective bending stiffness of the steel road safety barrier guardrails (1) of any cross-section wave form profile. The longitudinal reinforcement elements are made of sheet metal in a form of open trapezoidal, which prevent simultaneous deformation of the guardrail and trapezoidal reinforcement element due to mechanical locking and thereby ensure the preservation of the increased effective bending stiffness also during the complete deformation process of road safety barrier in the event of vehicle impact. This results in greater vehicle containment level at a reduced lateral dynamic deflection of the steel road safety barrier, which contributes to improved road safety.
