FRAME ASSEMBLY SYSTEM FOR GEODESIC FRAMED STRUCTURES
The node assembly for connecting struts of geodesic structure comprises: a hub 20 defining at least one channel and one or more retention elements 30a, 30b within the channel the hub securing the retention means by using a clamping means 24a, 24b. The retention elements are either integral to or separate components attached to the framework skeleton elongate strut members 10. The channel may be an arcuate toroidal or a curved cylindrical shape. The hub may comprise upper and lower cups 21 and 22. The retention elements may be split or bifurcated to form upper and lower wings which substantially geometrically match the interior shape of the channel. Also claimed is a method of constructing a framework for a geodesic structure using struts and the claimed nodes and covering the structure by way of individual panels having edges and the edges being locked onto individual struts.
