Hood latch assembly
A hood latch assembly (1) is provided comprising a first member (3) arranged to be mounted to a body member within an engine compartment of a vehicle (4). The first member comprises a lock mechanism (5). The hood latch assembly (1) further comprises a second member (7) arranged to be mounted to the hood (9) of the vehicle (4) comprising a striker (11) arranged to engage with said lock mechanism (5) to retain the hood (9) of the vehicle (4) in the closed position. The second member (7) further comprises a hood bracket (13) arranged to be mounted to the hood (9) of the vehicle (4), a striker bracket (15) comprising said striker (11), and a mechanical lock (17, 21) arranged to lock said striker bracket (15) to said hood bracket (13), said mechanical lock (17, 21) being arranged to allow unlocking by movement of an actuator (19). The present invention also relates to active hood latch system (25) and a vehicle (4) comprising a hood latch assembly (1) and/or an active hood latch system (25).
