A final disposal site and a waste disposal method capable of handling the disposal of mercury containing wastes are provided. A final disposal site (1) includes a landfill area (3) of which the periphery is defined by a side wall portion (2) and a building (5) which accommodates the landfill area (3) and of which a bottom portion is formed by a bottom plate structure (4). The bottom plate structure (4) includes a first waterproof structure (30) and an RC layer (31) thereabove. A vertical wall (44) provided at the peripheral edge of the RC layer (31), the side wall portion (2), and the RC layer (31) forms a concave area (50) of which the inside is covered by a second waterproof structure, and a traveling path (19) along which a ceiling hoist (18) travels is provided in the bottom portion of the concave area (50).
