The invention relates to a privacy protection device (10) for a housing (110) of a sliding door system (100), comprising a covering profile (20) for partially covering an interior space (112) of the housing (110), and further comprising a privacy protection profile (30) with a privacy protection section (36) for covering a sliding opening (120) between a wall profile (130) for covering the housing (110) and a first abutting section (32) and a second abutting section (34) adjacent to the two different sides of the privacy protection section (36), at least one profile retaining clip (40) with a flexible retaining section (44) fixed to the covering profile (20) by means of a fixing section (42) and the retaining section is in contact with the privacy protection section (36) by applying force. In addition, the invention relates to a method for mounting the privacy protection device (10).
