A loader parking assembly is disclosed. The loader parking assembly comprises a loader boom (135); and a parking stand (125) attached to the boom (135) comprising a first strut (415) pivotally attached to a second strut (420) and a locking plate (410), wherein the locking plate (410) comprises plurality of locking divots (440) for receiving the first strut and second strut (415, 420), wherein the first strut (415) and second strut (420) each comprise a strut end (235), wherein each strut end (235) is engageable with at least one of the plurality of locking divots (440) to secure the first strut (415) and the second strut (420), respectively. Furthermore, a method for operating a loader parking assembly is disclosed.
