HINGE ASSEMBLY FOR AN INSULATED GLASS DOOR
The hinge assembly (10, 10', 10", 10"') comprises a housing (16) for mounting on a cabinet (12) and a post member (17) for mounting on a door and for rotation relative to the housing (16). A first electrical contact (28, 28', 60) is mounted within the housing (16) for connection to a source of electrical power in the cabinet (12) and a second electrical contact (32, 32', 54, 68) is disposed in the post member (17) in electrical contact with the first contact for connection to an electrical appliance (15) in the door (11). In one embodiment, the electrical contacts rotate relative to each other as the post member (17) pivots on the housing (16) while in other embodiments; the electrical contacts remain stationary relative to each other as the post member (17) pivots on the housing (16).
