The strip i.e. plastering strip (2), has a rectangular receiving area (10) in which a sealing band (12) with delayed expansion is positioned on the strip. The sealing band extends unto two strip ends and is provided in a compressed condition in a longitudinal direction of the sealing band. The receiving area is opened by releasing a catch mechanism or by removing a portion e.g. protective flap (22), of the receiving area. The receiving area is attached to a lower end region of an arm (4). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a manufacturing machine for positioning a sealing band in a receiving area of a plastic strip (2) a method for positioning a sealing band in a receiving area of a plastic strip (3) a method for positioning a sealing band in a gap between a window frame and an outer shell.
