PANELIZED SHADOW BOX
In a method of supplying an element for covering a non-vision area in a curtain wall (600) on an architectural structure, a plurality of shadow boxes (100) is prefabricated at a location remote from both a unitized curtain wall assembly shop and the architectural structure. The shadow boxes (100) are prefabricated by sealing an interior spacer (130) between a vision glass panel (110) and a back structure (120). The back structure (120) includes an insulating material (124) surrounded by a rigid envelope (122). The vision glass panel (110), the back structure (120) and the interior spacer (130) define a hermetically sealed void (112) therein. A structural seal (134) is applied about the interior spacer (130) and is affixed to the peripheral edge of the vision glass (110), the interior spacer (130) and the back structure (120). The plurality of shadow boxes (100) is then delivered to a selected one of the unitized curtain wall assembly shop and the architectural site.
