KEY DUPLICATION MACHINE
A key duplication machine (10) comprising: a key blank identification system comprising: an outer shell (228) having an opening (230) to receive a key (22, 24) including a microchip embedded therein; a read/write device (226) positioned on the key duplication machine to interface with said key located in the opening wherein said read/write device is configured to transmit data to said key and configured to receive data from said key located at said opening; and an optical imaging device (50) is mounted within the machine and positioned such that it captures an optical image of said key at said opening.
