The present application relates to a valve (1) with a valve plate (3) for closing off an entrance to a sewer pipe in a storm drain, comprising a connection plate (2) for positioning the valve against a storm drain's wall and a hinge connection (4) for mutually coupling the said valve plate (3) and the connection plate (2). The connection plate (2) being provided with a protruding cover plate (11), said cover plate (11) at least partially overlapping a gap (7) between the valve plate (3) and the connection plate (2). Furthermore, the present application is directed to a storm drain comprising such a valve.
