L'invention concerne un dispositif d'essai d'un véhicule automobile doté d'un système avancé d'aide à la conduite comprenant un cadre (10) de fixation d'une cible, un bras support (12), le cadre (10) étant monté à rotation au bras support (12) autour d'une axe de rotation (25') parallèle audit bras support (12), le cadre (10) étant apte à passer d'une position détectable (10a), dans laquelle la cible est détectable par le véhicule testé, à une position escamotée (10b), dans laquelle la cible est invisible pour le système de détection du véhicule testé, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend des moyens d'entrainement actifs (35, 26) aptes à forcer le passage du cadre (10) de la position détectable (10a) à la position escamotée (10b) et des moyens de maintien du cadre (35, 26) en position escamotée.
