BRICK FOR HEARTH SECTION OF MOLTEN PIG IRON PRODUCTION FURNACE
Provided is a brick for a hearth section of a molten pig iron production furnace, which is excellent in molten pig iron resistance and hydration resistance. The brick comprises a mineral composition which has: 40 to 95 mass% of corundum; 5 to 60 mass% of one or more selected from the group consisting of 2H ´-type, 27R-type and 21R-type AlN polytype sialons; 5 mass% or less (including 0 mass%) of AlN; and 3 mass% or less (including 0 mass%) of Si 3 N 4 , wherein a matrix portion of the brick contains the one or more AlN polytype sialons in an amount of 5 mass% or more.
