A laundry appliance door assembly (24) with a wire cover (56) to protect the wire conductor (34) that passes through the door hinge (44) where it has a tendency to get pulled and damaged when the door (24) is in motion. The wire cover (56) includes a wire cover and a wire conduit (58) coaxially connected together allowing the wire cover (56) to rotate relative to the wiring conduit (58) while within alignment of the hinge rotational axis (45). The wire cover (56) comprises two lateral halves (56a, 56b) for ease of installation where it is designed to encase the wire conductor (34) that passes through the door hinge (44).
