The invention relates to a ceiling or wall assembly (1) having a ceiling or wall structure with at least one opening (2), wherein the opening (2) is covered by a panel (3), which is retained at least by at least one retaining device (4) in the position covering the opening (2), characterised in that the retaining device (4) comprises a retaining element (5), which can be transferred from a retaining position retaining the panel (3) into a release position releasing the panel (3), wherein the retaining device (4) comprises a temperature-sensitive control element (6) which moves automatically from a first state into a second state as a result of at least one critical temperature change, and which induces the transfer of the retaining element (5) from the retaining position into the release position when a critical temperature is exceeded.
