COUPLER ASSEMBLY FOR COUPLING AN ARM TO A WORK TOOL
A coupler assembly (10) for detachably coupling an arm (12) to a work tool (14). The coupler assembly comprises a first linkage (20) having an idle link (22) and a power link (24), a first pin (30) provided on the arm (12), and a second pin (32) provided on the power link (24). The first and second pins (30,32) are receivable in openings on the work tool (14). The coupling assembly(10) is characterized by a second linkage (38) provided between the first and second pins (30, 32) comprising a first link (40) and a second link (42) joined at a shaft (44). The first link (40) is fixed to the shaft (44) to prevent rotation therebetween. A portion (56) of the shaft (44) comprises a gear (58). The second link (42) comprises a body (62) mounted on the shaft (44) so as to be rotatable thereabout, the body (62) comprising a chamber (68) in which a piston (72) is received, the piston (72) including a geared section (74) that is meshed with the gear (58).
