Elastic element which is intended to be arranged in a fastening point (SB) for a rail (S) for rail vehicles between the rail (S) and the foundation (U) supporting it, wherein the elastic element (1) has a standing surface (2) assigned to the foot (SF) of the rail (S) and a bearing surface (3) assigned to the foundation (U), and wherein the elastic element (1) comprises a basic body (4), which consists of a material which behaves in an elastically flexible manner at least in a loading direction directed towards the standing surface (2), and at least one damping element (D1-D4) which is embedded into the elastic material of the basic body (4), wherein the damping element (D1-D4) has at least one contact portion (14, 19, 23, 25), which is assigned to the standing surface (2) and, with the elastic element (1) unloaded, is oriented flush with the standing surface (2) of the elastic element (1) or projects beyond the standing surface (2) of the elastic element (1), and at least two spaced-apart supporting portions (10, 13, 18, 20, 21, 26) assigned to the bearing surface of the elastic element, and wherein the contact portion (14, 19, 23, 25) is arranged in the region (15) spanned by the damping element (D1-D4) between the supporting portions (10, 13, 18, 20, 21, 26) and is supported in an elastically flexible manner in the manner of a bridge in the loading direction (V).
