The door closer comprises a bolt (1) which is rotatably mounted at its two ends in a respective disc (2, 3). Said bolt projects from the upper disc in order to transmit a torque to a driver rod (27). The two discs (2, 3) are fixedly connected to one another via a bridge (4) which extends parallel to and is radially spaced apart from the bolt (1). In its longitudinal centre, the bolt (1) bears a rotary disc (5) which is fixedly connected thereto and which extends radially up to the inner side of the bridge (4). In its circumferential region (7), said rotary disc is vertically traversed by a driving bar (8), with the result that the driving bar (8) can be pivoted within the bridge (4) past the latter in both directions of rotation of the bolt (1). Steel springs (9, 10) have their ends guided around the bolt in such a way that the bolt (1) can be deflected from a central, neutral rotary position in each direction of rotation only under the action of the spring force of the steel springs (9, 10).
