A hydraulic system for a mobile construction vehicle (10), comprising a variable displacement track motor (60a, 60b) configured to be coupled to a track of the mobile construction vehicle (10) to drive the track, an accumulator (30) for storing pressurized hydraulic fluid for use as a power supply to a non-track load implement (14),a pump (54, 56) dedicated to the track motor (60a, 60b) and control valving (58a, 58b) that is operable between a first position at which the control valving (58a, 58b) directs hydraulic fluid from the dedicated pump (54, 56) to the variable displacement track motor (60a, 60b) to drive the variable displacement track motor (60a, 60b), and a second position at which the control valving (58a, 58b) directs hydraulic fluid from the dedicated pump (54, 56) to the accumulator (30).
