The present invention relates to a waterproofing membrane for roofs, formed by - a nonwoven mat of mineral fibers bound by an organic binder and - a bitumenous phase impregnating the nonwoven mat of mineral fibers, the membrane being characterized by the fact that the organic binder comprises from 15% to 95% by weight of a thermoset polymer obtained from a resin based on formaldehyde and 1 to 15% by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), these percentages being expressed relative to the total dry weight of the organic binder. The invention further relates to a process for manufacturing such a waterproofing membrane.
