NEW RETARDING SYSTEM FOR CSA-BASED CEMENTS
The invention relates to a retarding composition comprising a carboxylic acid or a salt thereof selected from tartaric acid, citric acid and a mixture thereof and a salt of a monovalent alkaline metal selected from sodium and potassium, wherein the equivalent ratio of M+to COO-is in the range from 0.50 to 9.00. Preferably the composition comprises tartaric acid and sodium carbonate or a salt thereof in a ratio Na+to COO-in the range from 3 to 5. The composition of the invention can be used as a retarder of CSA-cement or ternary cement comprising CSA-cement and so it can be part of a cementitious composition.
