Blade inserts (2000, 2200) for heavy-duty shearers are disclosed which are shaped and configured to be mounted to a jaw (200) of a material processor by a wedge block (2010, 2210), the insert having insert body with a through-hole (2020) and first and second surfaces disposed on opposite sides thereof. The blade insert is shaped and configured to be mounted to the jaw by the wedge block (2010, 2210) extending into the through-hole. The blade insert and the wedge block have mating frustoconical surfaces (2020a, 2010b, 2220b, 2210e).
