The invention relates to a method and a device for connecting two profiled parts (1, 3) made of plastic, in particular made of a thermoplastic, wherein a joining surface (2) of one profiled part (1) is melted for connection to a joining surface (13) of the other profiled part (3) and at least one mould (4, 6) is moved relative to the one profiled part (1) so as to displace molten material (5) escaping at least at one edge portion (8) of the joining surface (2). The formation of a weld bead is intended to be prevented in the process, albeit at least the form thereof is intended to be effectively reduced. This is achieved in that the at least one mould (4, 6) is tilted around the edge portion (8) relative to the molten joining surface (2) of the one profiled part (1).
