A flexible and thermal insulating sheet (1) comprises a flexible support (10) to which several thermally insulating strips (20) are attached. Each of the strips (20), which comprise a mixture comprising thermally insulating particles, has: • two main faces (22, 24) which are in the shape of a rectangle, triangle or trapezium, • two end faces (42, 44) and • two lateral surfaces (52, 54). The cross section of each of the strips according to a plane at right angles to their main faces (22, 24) and at right angles to the longitudinal direction has a geometric shape selected from the group of rectangles, trapeziums and trapeziums with truncated corners between the hypotenuses and the longest side, wherein the adjacent sides (70, 71) of every two strips positioned next to each other are substantially parallel and are separated from each other at the location of the attachment to the flexible support, and wherein the thermally insulating particles are aerogel particles, pyrogenic metal oxide particles or a combination of both.
