Disclosed is a building material (1, 100), in particular a roofbuilding material, in the form of a roll or a web having a composite structure (2) comprising a first layer (3), a carrier material layer (4) and an adhesive layer (5) arranged between the carrier material layer (4) and the first layer (3), wherein the first layer (3) is securely joined to the adhesive layer (5) and the carrier material layer (4) is detachably joined to the adhesive layer (5). In order that this building material is amenable to testing even after installation thereof it is proposed that the first layer (3) comprises both cellulose (6) and on the side of the layer (3.1) facing away from the carrier material layer (4) at least one printed electrode structure (7) which together with the cellulose (6) of the first layer (3) forms a sensor (8).
