The present invention concerns a flood barrier system for a building or structure (figure l). It is intended to act as a barrier against the risks of flooding and/or the risks of rising water. It is also designed to alert and protect humans, and to protect buildings and goods. It is adaptable to and capable of being incorporated into all types of structures. It belongs to the field of devices offering protection against floods. The invention is autonomous and independent due to the integration of a power source (4) into its structure. This ensures it is triggered and brought into operation in a fully autonomous manner. The invention also incorporates a sealed and inflatable tarpaulin (3) that can be deployed in order to provide the mechanical barrier system; when it is not used, it is inserted into a dedicated housing. The flood barrier system for a building or structure is able to communicate due to the integration of a LPWAN radio communication module (5), which incorporates its own power source (17); this module (5) allows the invention to inform and alert its owner of its operating state.
