A dual axis hinge (350) configured for pivotally securing a cowl (320) to a fixed structure (310) of an aircraft is disclosed. In various embodiments, the dual axis hinge includes a link (360) having a first end (361) and a second end (363); a first pin (362) configured to pivotally secure the first end of the link to the fixed structure and a second pin (364) configured to pivotally secure the second end of the link to the cowl; and a first hinge stop (366) configured for connection to the cowl and a second hinge stop (368) configured for connection to the link.
