The invention relates to a fastening device for fastening an assembly part on a frame having a groove of a building closure, comprising a first rear engagement element and a second rear engagement element, the rear engagement elements can be inserted independently of each other into the groove and are held in the groove in a form-fitting manner by rear engagement with opposite groove edges defining the groove when arranged adjacent to each other, for which rear engagement elements have rear engagement webs which run parallel to each other and parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the fastening device, the rear joining web extends continuously parallel to an imaginary longitudinal median plane which accommodates the longitudinal central axis. In this case, the first rear engagement element has a first inclined surface, the second rear engagement element has a second inclined surface for at least partially resting on the first inclined surface, and the two rear engagement elements are designed such that the rear engagement elements are pushed away from each other transversely to the longitudinal center axis when the rear engagement elements are moved toward each other along the longitudinal center axis. The invention relates to a building closure and a method for fastening fitting components.
