A ROOF ASSEMBLY HAVING IMPROVED HAIL IMPACT RESISTANCE
The invention is directed to a roof assembly (1) comprising:i. A roof deck (2),ii. A roof underlayment (3),iii. A roofing membrane (4) having an upper and a lower major surface, andiv. A protective layer (5) covering at least a portion of the upper major surface of the roofing membrane (3), wherein the protective layer (5) is composed of porous material.The invention is also related to a method for preparing a roof assembly having improved hail impact resistance and to use of a protective layer to improve hail impact resistance of a roof system.
