FRAMEWORK CONSTRUCTION STRUT
A framework construction strut (10) usable both vertically and horizontally for construction of a framework for a wall comprises an elongate hollow extrusion (11) provided at each of a pair of parallel and mutually opposite first longitudinal sides (12) with a support face (14) for supporting a cladding element and at each of a pair of parallel and mutually opposite second longitudinal sides (13), which are perpendicular to the first sides (12), with a respective longitudinal groove (15) adjacent to each of the support faces (14), the grooves serving for reception of fixing means for fixing the strut (10) to a further such strut, to a wall panel or to another component. The extrusion (11) is further provided at one of the second sides (13) with a slot (17) extending over the full length of the strut (10) between the longitudinal grooves (15) of that side and serving for reception of fastening means for use in fastening the strut to another such strut in a butt joint relationship. The grooves (15) are identical and have two opposite sides and a base which is parallel to the second longitudinal sides (13) of the extrusion.
