Described is a storage device for articles of clothing, having a hanger (1) which can be displaced on a carrier (2) in an introduction direction (E) between an access position and a storage position, for which hanger an anti-pull-out mechanism (7) is provided in the locked storage position. To create a storage device of the of the aforementioned type, which permits a high packing density of secured articles of clothing of different material thicknesses and is thus suitable more particularly for larger public cloakrooms, it is proposed that the anti-pull-out mechanism (7) comprises a clamp (9) for a frame part (6) of the hanger (1), said clamp being open against the introduction direction (E) and forming two clamp limbs (10) which are positioned against the frame part (6) in the storage position.
